EACH unique student with ASD in an elementary classroom needs to feel affirmed, engaged, and supported by all teachers and staff members with whom he is working and growing. Remarkable teachers see infinite possibilities in their students, look to continually deepen their understanding, and refine, enhance, and improve learning environments, instruction, and curricula. As this chapter explores the realm of elementary programs for students with ASD, it will examine important classroom considerations, significant instructional strategies and supports, noteworthy curriculum content considerations, and effective inclusive practices.
